The boat was hard to start from sitting a couple of years but once it got going it would run pretty good. Idle was low and would stall going into gear.
NettetTiming should be at 18 tdc when the timing is fully advanced. Sounds like it's set at idle timing, which is 6 degrees. Also, timing should be set under a load on a Looper at 4500-5000 rpm. We use a dyno or a load wheel for this. If you must do it at idle with timing arm pulled to fully advanced, set it at 16 tdc.
