I have a friend with a 16" Fn with Carbine gas length. Just last week he had ammo that wouldn't cycle his rifle. Worked fine in mine. I think with 300blk the shorter gas system is more reliable. Generally speaking, mid length is great on 16” barrels, I’ve seen it also run good on 12.5” barrels but damn that dwell time is short. Rifle is great on 19-20” barrels.
