WebMar 1, 2024 · Section 1 (1): amended, on 1 March 2024, by section 251 (2) of the District Court Act 2016 (2016 No 49). 1A Purpose The purpose of this Act is to— (a) establish a Family Court as a division of the District Court; and (b) provide for the constitution, jurisdiction, powers, and procedures of the Family Court. Web142 Costs. (1) In any proceedings under this Act, the court may make any order as to costs it thinks fit. (2) An order under this section may be made either in addition to, or instead of, an order under section 71 or section 87 or section 121. (3) This section is subject to sections 131 and 135.
