It was on the right side of the trans opposite from the spedo gear, near the vacuum canister. You don't have to have the detent cable hooked up on a TH350 for the transmission to function, only if you want to have passing gear. If it's left disconnected, simply drop it down into 2nd gear manually and upshift it manually.

WebFeb 7, 2013 · I have to disagree, this a TH350, not a 200r4 or a 700R4. Cable is for kickdown 3-2 for passing, not line pressure control like the TV cable on the later overdrive transmissions.
